LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Leadership Development at Christian Life Center

Leadership is influence. Everyday we can exhibit leadership in our home, at work, and in relationships.

Leadership is an attitude. It is not a title or position, but a willingness to serve and to lead.

Leadership is ownership. It is being purposeful and passionate about the thing you are called to, and taking responsibility for choices and decisions, good or bad.

Worshippers and Leaders

We have two kinds of people at Christian Life Center. We have Worshippers and we have Leaders.

Anyone can come to the church and be a worshipper. They can come to participate and enjoy services—the Word, the music, the fellowship.

Then we have Leaders: those who have been attending CLC and have decided to join. For this group, CLC has gone from just being a good church they attend to their church that they are fully committed to building and growing. They are ready to meet the requirements outlined in our Leadership Commitment Forms, and are ready to serve in the areas of leadership where needed.

Process of going from a Worshipper to a Leader

Most people come into churches in survival mode, and they are instantly guilt-tripped with the “serve to be significant” mantra. This is why we often find emotionally and spiritually broken predators leading church and ministries.

Giving people a place to belong where they feel and safe and developed takes time. To this end, we have put in place guidelines to help individuals move from where they are to where they want to be.

First, we must get people from victim to victor. We have to help them become over-comers who are not overwhelmed by life and by the call of God.

Second, we allow them to feel safe and to develop trusting relationships. Relationships take time and connection.

Third, we give people a place to belong and encourage them to pursue their naturally developing desire to serve.

See our commitment to you to get started.

Worshipper

If you would like to be a Worshipper at CLC, you are welcome to attend and participate in our weekly services on Wednesdays at 7 pm and Sundays at 10 am and 6 pm.

Leaders

Once you have been attending CLC for at least 6 months and you feel you want to start contributing to the church you have grown to love, you may attend our bi-annual Leadership Intake meeting. There you can sign a Leadership Commitment to become a member of the church.

At this time, you can join one of our teams, such as Kids Ministry, Ushering Team, Welcome Team, and Men’s Ministry, just to name a few.

After at least 6 months as an active member of the church, if you would like to serve and commit for a deeper level of leadership within church life, you can enroll into our 12 month Leadership School.

Leadership School requires attendance to a monthly meeting, as well as any other events/meetings that may occur during this training period. During these 12 months, you will be discipled and trained so that you will be equipped to serve at a higher capacity of leadership in all areas of life.
