WHAT WE BELIEVE
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God. It is inspired, inerrant, infallible, accurate, authoritative, reliable, and applicable to our everyday lives, in every way, with no exceptions.
God
We believe there is only one true God who is the eternal King, Creator and Redeemer of all that is. He is perfectly holy, just, loving and truthful. He has revealed Himself to be eternally self-existent – one being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. He is the almighty Creator, Savior and Judge, who sustains and governs all things according to His sovereign will for His own glory.
The Human Race
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to know and enjoy Him, yet we willfully rejected the Lordship and glory of God for which we were intended. Because of this, sin entered the world and has extensively and completely ruined man’s nature, bringing sickness, death and judgment, and now creation experiences the effects and consequences of sin without any hope of self-redemption.
We believe that man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.
The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life in obedience to the Father.
He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected and ascended into heaven, and is now alive today, in the presence of God the Father and in His people.
He died in the place of sinners, bearing God's punishment for their sin, redeeming them by His blood.
He is the only One who can reconcile us to God.
He was empowered by the Holy Ghost to inaugurate God's Kingdom on earth in the hearts of mankind. He intercedes for His people in the presence of the Father.
We believe that Jesus has delivered us from the Penalty of sin, the Power of sin and the Pollution of sin.
In order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth,’ we must respond to the drawing of the Holy Ghost, repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.
The Holy Ghost
We believe that the Holy Ghost has been sent from Heaven to glorify Christ and to apply His work of salvation. He convicts sinners, imparts spiritual life, and gives a true understanding of the Scriptures.
He dwells in all believers, brings assurance of salvation, and produces increasing likeness to Christ. He builds up the Church and empowers its members for worship, service and mission.
We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives to the potential that God intends for us, we need to be filled with the power of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost enables us to use spiritual gifts and to move in the supernatural power of God.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is entirely a work of God's grace and cannot be earned or deserved. It has been accomplished by the Lord Jesus Christ and is offered to all in the gospel. God in His love forgives sinners whom He calls, granting them repentance and faith. All who believe in Christ are justified by faith alone, are adopted into the family of God, and receive eternal life.
We believe that the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security.
The Church
We believe that the local church is God’s vehicle to reach, touch and change the world today, and that all true Christian ministry happens in and through the local church.
We believe the Church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God's love, discipling the nations, baptizing and teaching them to love and obey God.
We believe that for a follower of Jesus Christ to enter into all that they are called to be and to fulfill their potential, they need to be a contributing member of a local church.
We believe that the Church consists of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ. He gave His church the ordinances of Baptism and Communion.
We define the church as a Christ-centered fellowship that meets regularly with a focus on discipleship and outreach to the community within which God has placed them.
We believe that all churches should be vibrant, that is, seeing both numerical and spiritual growth. The numbers of the people are increasing yearly through evangelism and the members are maturing measurable in thought and deed, as determined by the elders of the congregation.
